Perceptions of training program reputation remain
relatively under-represented in the training literature
(e.g., Facteau, Dobbins, Russell, Ladd, & Kudisch,
1995). The present study seeks to extend previous
findings by examining the effects of perceived training
reputation, managerial support and self-efficacy on
pre-training motivation and likely transfer of training
in a private training curriculum. Self-report
questionnaires sent to 93 manager trainees assessed the
key constructs. Limitations and suggestions for future
research are noted. pdf
