Anthony Mitchell and Marc Jones argue for a broader,
more integrative appreciation of risk and risk
management than currently prevails and examine what can
be done today to avert or offset some of the disastrous
consequences of what might otherwise occur tomorrow.
They are proposing a much broader, holistic concept of
risk and approach to risk management that is founded on
the resource-based theory of the firm. This focuses on
the critical resource stocks and flows necessary to
ensure the firm’s survival and growth. It allows us to
immediately identify vital stakeholder relationships
which are linked to these critical resources. pdf. 2007
