Companies increasingly focus more resources on the front
end of innovation. Perhaps because of this, the joint
PDMA/IIR conference held on May 29 and 30, 2003 in
Cambridge, Massachusetts on this topic received an
excellent turnout. Over 250 new product professionals
attended the conference, officially entitled as Tools
and Techniques and Effective Practices for Managing the
Front End of Innovation (a.k.a. Fuzzy Front End). Peter
Koen, who chaired the conference, recaps some of the
highlights and "takeaways" of the conference in this
article.
